As part of our mission to support students throughout their time at MU, the Center for Academic Success & Excellence manages four diversity-related scholarships. We assist students who have received these awards by assuring they are meeting the annual renewal requirements, along with the appeal process if the need arises.
The scholarships we manage are:
Summer Transition Scholarship
Students participating in the Summer Bridge Program are automatically considered for this scholarship.
Diversity Award
No separate application is required. All admitted underrepresented/underserved students are automatically considered for this scholarship. Selected students will be notified by the Office of Admissions.
George C. Brooks Scholarship
The George C. Brooks Scholarship is a competitive award, requiring a separate MU application for consideration. Students meeting the requirements will be notified by the Office of Admissions for an interview.
The award is named after former MU Financial Aid Director George C. Brooks, this scholarship is designed to enhance recruitment and retention of undergraduate students from ethnic groups that are underrepresented at MU.
Dr. Donald M. Suggs Scholarship
