Biography

At age 7, DuVonte’ Beard became an athlete. Little did he know, sports would become the center of his life and aspirations.

Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, the Chiefs and Royals were Beard’s two favorite teams.  Growing up with an increasing interest in sports, he began to focus on pursuing a career that deals with athletes. Some occupations he took into consideration were athletic training, sports management and journalism. Ultimately, he chose to pursue journalism after identifying the two subjects he loved most in school: writing and speech.

Beard is a senior at MU and plans to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He joined the CASE marketing team in Spring 2020 and is excited for the opportunity to use his bold and unique voice on the CASE podcast.

Beard hopes to become a sports journalists. He believes his knowledge of sports, experience as a high school and college athlete, along with skills acquired during this internship, will lead him on that career path.
